Worst Problems For Beginners In Content Writing

The concept of a "Job" has changed rapidly over the years. Nowadays, a job doesn't mean that you have to take a bus and go to the office every day or have a business with physical existence. You can sit down on your chair in your drawing room or have a cup of coffee in your bed while working. And the Covid-19 pandemic has made it more normal than ever. Though the term "Work from Home" isn't our concern today. Today we will talk about the "Other" work you can do while sitting on your bed.

As the business industry is changing day by day and marketing policy becoming more and more online-based, hence the need for content writers is rising. So, many are considering it as a permanent freelancing option. But it isn't as smooth as you think.

That's why I thought, "Why not share my knowledge with you?" I know that many others are doing this too, and that also for a long time. But this will be different. Why? Because the others, who share their experience with you, are successful and have a lot of experience which I don't have.

Now, don't skip this post yet. I know what you all are thinking. "Why waste time on this guy who doesn't know anything?" I would probably feel the same. But stick with me a bit longer, and you will understand why.

I can tell you something that those guys can't. Yes, you read it right. I can. I can break down the problems better than those guys because I am facing them right now. You may think that you don't need to know about the issues, but you do. That way, you can find solutions for those issues. And I can tell you the methods I am using to overcome those problems. So could you stick with me to the end? I will try to tell you the issues I faced to this date in this post and continue updating through other posts.

The first confusion would be where to start? In which platform? Well, there are a few, but I would suggest Upwork, Fiverr to begin with. You can start with either of those two. You can also create your blog. Now that we have sorted that out let's move on to the next big question.

What niche or topic I will choose?

Well, I will suggest you start with anything you like. That can be anything! You love to watch football, and you are passionate about it, start writing on it. I'm not suggesting that you only apply to the jobs that are in your comfort zone. What I'm telling you is to start writing. That is going to help you in a big way that you won't believe. "Practice makes a man perfect" this phrase doesn't stand for just a say-so. You have to overcome the uneasiness in your writings. That way, your proposal letters to your clients (if you are on Upwork) or the email you are sending to a probable client would be more compelling. So start writing.

Finding your first job

This is the next big thing. This is where it gets a bit tricky. Well, I said that you could create a profile on Upwork or Fiverr but getting your first job isn't an easy one. I mean, I am still struggling a lot. For the last four months that I started freelancing, I was able to get just one job. But with every passing day, I am beginning to see where I went wrong.

The first one would be not doing enough research before deciding to start my freelancing career in content writing. For that reason only I am still struggling a lot than others. For three months, I just submitted proposals that I thought could get me a job. And did nothing else, No research, no practice, nothing. That was my biggest mistake. So I will suggest you guys do some research before you completely start your freelancing career.

False marketing yourself

Never tell you can do something that you can't. Always be honest with your clients. This is a pervasive tendency for beginners. We think that just saying 'I can do this to our client is enough to make them believe. No, it is not. Tell exactly what you can do, no more, no less. That will help you in the long term.

Where is the shortcut?

Let me tell you about that. "THERE ISN'T ONE". You have to prepare yourself by doing some research and then hone your skill with practice. You may think that writing articles just for exercise isn't beneficial, I mean no one will pay you for practicing. YOU'RE WRONG. They will. Because until you find some actual clients, those are going to your samples. Your client will make decisions on those articles. So do some practice.

I tried to cover the basic problems anyone will face if they start to write content. I will be posting about this regularly. So keep in touch. You will find something more interesting in the next post.
